Shop for fur hats, caviar, vodka, wall plaques and tiles, wood and metal sculpture, hand-painted lacquerware, and balalaikas and other musical instruments. Don't do all your shopping in the large tourist shops; while they are the best source for high-quality items, good souvenirs can also be purchased less expensively on the street or in smaller shops. Only buy caviar from an official store, and be sure to keep your receipts.
