Mid May to October is the best time to visit Romania. The days are warm and the evenings cool. It can, however, be uncomfortably warm during July and August in Bucharest and other low-lying areas. October is chancy -- the foliage is beautiful, but it can be cold and rainy. Winter can be very cold, with temperatures below freezing throughout the country during the day.
