The best time to visit is late May-late September. Many outdoor recreational sites are open 1 May to the third weekend in September only. Take along a sweater for evenings year-round. The winters are long, relatively dreary, cold and uncomfortable for most touring activities. A coastal country, Denmark can be rather windy.
