Athens

Athens is looking towards its real and big history. Big changes have been made as the city prepares to "bring home" the Olympic Games in 2004. The Plaka are the stone streets lined with colorful houses, gardens, quaint shops and small tavernas. The main attractions are ancient monuments and amphitheaters and tall modern buildings. At nearby Spata the new international airport is open congested downtown streets are being transformed into pedestrian walkways, greatly reducing the city's notorious smog and noise.
