Nara

The first capital of Japan, The ancient architecture of Nara is well worth seeing, especially the Todai Temple. The temple qualifies for two Guinness Book of World Records mentions: Its Buddha is the largest bronze in the world, and its main structure is the world's largest wooden building. Due to the dark inside the building, the Buddha is difficult to photograph buy postcards. The temple sits in a huge park where small deer have free rein.
