Durnand Gorge

The hiking trail begins in this former Roman Sattlement continues to the market village Bourg then along the train line to Le Borgeaud. Here the Durand joins the Drande and the road to champex Veers off the pass road which woudl continue to the great St. Bernahrd's pass. The water shoots down the different levels here which explains the thunderous noise made by the crashing water. A bridge crosses the Jranse and at the beginning of the Durand gorge made accessible by 1 km of tunnels staircases and galleries.
