Konchi-in
Konchi-in is a lovely and significant dry landscape and pond garden. Konchi-in is an Edo period garden and part of the overall Nanzen-ji temple complex. It lies outside the larger temple, which can be quite busy. The Akechi mon gate is the another very pretty garden. The path enters a very sectuded area with trees casting light shade over beautiful darkgreen moss. In front of the Ro-mon gate a water basin marks the beginning of a path which after turning left, leads you through the onari-mon gate to Tosho gu a temple courtyard. Down the hill there was the Kaisan-do, a smaller temple. Dont miss the hojo, the main sanctuary withing the temple precinct and Konchi-in the exquisite landscape style Japanese garden. The most intresting one are the trees, gravel, secluded paths, pond and garden.
